East Vancouver

I love wandering around my part of Vancouver, the east side. Recently I enjoyed a long stroll with my dear friend Teresa McCarthy (of One Wet Foot fame). We visited the Equinox Gallery’s Project Space to view the retrospective show of works by one of my favourite photographers, Fred Herzog. (The show is free and has been extended until 28th April. I really recommend you stop by.)

As we walked, we encountered various interesting subjects including construction sites, the SkyTrain, and Ken Lum’s Monument for East Vancouver.

Teresa pointed out that while these signs are clearly displayed, nobody seems to obey them. We saw no trick cyclists at all, which was the day’s one disappointment.

  1. It was a fun day. i’m still amazed that trick cyclists have a dedicated zone, especially along a route heavily used by both pedestrians and commuter cyclists. Oh, wait…
